The American Revolution (1775 to 1783) was a most significant event in American history and you may be wondering if you had an ancestor involved in the events. We will be discussing how to organize your research and the important documents required to provide relevant information. We will review the importance of birth, marriage & death records as well as the major records for military service, pension awards, and bounty-land warrants, while providing suggestions to solve “brick wall” situations that sometimes impede our research. Learn how you can increase your chances of discovering a Revolutionary participant with each generation you research. We will review the opportunities provided by organizations such as the Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR) and Sons of the American Revolution (SAR).
